Domain Charges

I was charged for the domain! I thought this was free since I have a yearly/2-year plan with you. What was the $24.95 charge for?

There are two instances when your domain charge is not synced with your plan charges:

Situation #1: You signed up for the Yearly/2-Yearly plan and claimed your domain during the trial period (for domains registered before September  21, 2018). 

If you claim your domain during the trial period, you will be charged $24.95. However, after the trial ends, the $24.95 domain charge will be deducted from your total plan price. 

For instance, you claimed your domain on January 1, 2015 and paid for your plan on January 5th. On January 1, 2016, you will be charged another $24.95 but when your plan renews on January 5, 2016, the price for the domain will be deducted from your total plan price (if you renew). 

Situation #2: You signed up for the Yearly/2-year plan and claimed your domain AFTER you paid for your plan (for domains registered before September  21, 2018). 

Say you were charged January 1, 2015 for your 2-year plan and you claimed your free domain 9 days after (January 10). When you renew your plan on January 1, 2017, you will pay for your plan renewal and on January 10, 2017, your domain should renew automatically without charging. If you get charged, let us know so we can refund it back to your account. 

 

Notes:

  • Domains registered on or after September 21, 2018 on a Yearly/2-year plan is free for the first year.
  • Domain registration/renewal may cost $24.95. The price may now vary according to your domain's TLD/extension ie .com, .net, .biz, .fr, etc. 
  • Domains can now be registered in 2, 5, and 10 years. The price of the domain registration for 1 year will be multiplied by the number of years you register it for.
  • Domains are renewed every year (if registered for 1 year), including domains on 2-year plans. 
    If you were on a yearly plan when you purchased the domain and you switched to a two year plan, your domain should automatically sync with your plan. If not, feel free to email us at support@strikingly.com or chat with us.
