Place Facebook/Twitter likes/shares on the top vs bottom (or option)

Imagine having great site with lots of great content, yet the user must scroll to the bottom to share/like your page ?? Move it to the top or provide an option for placing these share icons top/bottom/(both ?)- or in floating menu...
