Text Boxes

There NEEDS to be a way to insert a text box. This is a really elementary thing that Strikingly is missing. It would make it much easier to personalize your website.

Great news! We have added a new Pro section, the Make Your Own section. You can use it to build your own section where you can insert a text box anywhere. Add the "Make Your Own" section from the section selector to give it a go!

We hope you like our new feature and would love to hear your feedback on it!

    Cheers!

I absolutely agree! It is infuriating not being able to insert pieces of text where you want. It should also go further and allow boxes to be inserted containing images or other items.

I am very surprised to find out that Strikingly doesn't allow you to add text boxes. This has been a deal breaker for me. Alas, please work quickly on this Strikingly team!

Hi folks - very happy with my new site, but in terms of text boxes it would also be very useful to re-size, move, copy/paste text boxes. Essentially the sort of functionality that we take for granted in MSOffice or similar packages. Cheers, Simon.

I'm a first time user of Strikingly. I like what I have seen so far, but I agree with comments above. This is a fundamental flaw which other CMS do not suffer from. I wanted to add a text field to an existing section template, a contact page, with an email address and a telephone number. The PRO section doesnt appear to resolve this issue as I dont want to create a new section, rather modify an existing section. Why do you not allow users to add text boxes to existing sections? Isn't your aim to make it easy for people to create the website they want?

My guess is that it's in a to-do list but I would say adjusting width of a text box to prevent widows forming would be a massive improvement to some templates. Specially for headings.

Easy. Go to Wix. After using Strikingly and wix, not only does wix have better templates, their templates are more intuitive. They let you do simple things like, drag a text box onto the screen. These common sense features are what Strikingly lacks. Also wix has much better customer service. You can just give them a call in and in just a couple minutes they’ll literally take over your screen and edit your website for you.
