Currently, pictures uploaded to the gallery have no space for a suitable description. Can we have that added?

Thanks for reaching out! We are looking into Gallery improvements so we will keep this is mind! We'll update you as soon as we start working on it!
In the meantime, you can maybe try with "Content in rows" section. With "Layout C" you can fit up to 4 images per row and you can add links and descriptions to all of them.
