Troubleshooting Copy-Paste Formatting Issues in the Site Editor

When you copy and paste content from external sources (e.g., websites, Microsoft Word, or Google Docs) into the site editor, the original formatting may be carried over, causing unexpected layout or text formatting issues.

If you're experiencing formatting issues when pasting content into the site editor, try one of the following methods to paste the content without its original formatting.

Method 1: Use a Keyboard Shortcut

1. Copy the content you want to add to your site.
2. Navigate to the desired text field in the site editor.
3. Use the appropriate keyboard shortcut to paste the content without its original formatting:
   • Windows: Ctrl + Shift + V
   • Mac: Command (⌘) + Shift + V

This removes the original formatting, allowing the content to adopt the formatting of the destination text field or editor.

Method 2: Use the Right-Click Menu

1. Copy the desired content from the original source.
2. Open the site editor and navigate to the desired text field.
3. Right-click inside the text field.
4. If available, select Paste as plain text or Paste without formatting.

Note: The wording and availability of this option may vary depending on your browser and operating system.

Method 3: Use a Plain-Text Editor

If the previous methods don't resolve the issue, try copying the content through a plain-text editor to remove its original formatting.

For Windows:

1. Copy the content from the original source.
2. Open Notepad.
3. Paste the content into Notepad.
4. Copy the content from Notepad.
5. Paste it into the site editor.

For Mac:

1. Copy the content from the original source.
2. Open TextEdit.
3. Select Format → Make Plain Text.
4. Paste the content into TextEdit.
5. Copy the content from TextEdit.
6. Paste it into the site editor.

Important Notes

• Pasting as plain text removes the original formatting. You may need to reapply headings, bold text, links, and other styling directly in the site editor.
• These steps can help when the formatting issue originates from the copied content, but they may not resolve unrelated editor issues.
